Job Description

The Architectural Inspector will ensure contractors are compliant with contract documents, coordinate daily with other teams to document and verify the quality and quantity of work performed by the Contractor, process incoming Inspection Requests and technical submittals, and perform necessary actions as directed by the project leads.

Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and ensuring all architectural engineering aspects of the project are carried out as per inspection plan, drawings, codes, and specifications.
  • Liaising with the Senior Architectural Engineer and other Engineers and Managers to provide support and guidance as required.
  • Reviewing and monitoring variations to the work to mitigate time and cost impacts for any required changes.
  • Reviewing the contractor's documents and shop drawings to flag and rectify any issues that may affect stability or function of architectural components or systems.
  • Monitoring contractor compliance with approved Quality Control Plan.
  • Coordinating inspection protocol set up for inspection of works by inspection teams.
  • Monitoring safety aspects related to architectural installations.
  • Providing reports on the progress of architectural aspects of the project.
  • Assisting in expediting NOCs from relevant authorities if they appear to be stalled or delayed.
  • Maintaining full site records, including daily diaries and formal monthly progress photography.
  • Expediting approvals from the client if they appear to be stalled or delaying the project.
  • Liaising with management of various contractors to expedite submissions and approvals process.
  • Performing and evaluating tests confirming quality requirements, architectural finishes and building components by conducting thorough site inspections as per approved shop drawings, specifications and method statements.
  • Field checks of placement, location and quality of architectural finishes and building structure components.
  • Coordinating with the team on site to ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Performing architectural and material inspections.
  • Issuing NCRs to contractors and assisting in taking corrective actions.
  • Ensuring all inspection reports are accurate and in compliance with requirements.
  • Ensuring execution and inspection are carried out as per inspection plan, drawings, codes and specifications.
  • Ensuring compliance of architectural works with design requirements, specifications and project plan.
  • Preparing daily logs and reports; maintaining records of all submittals, testing inspections, work executed and related data.
  • Performing all work in accordance with the Contract Administration Procedures Manual.
  • Assisting with inspection of completed works and performing all other duties given by direct manager.
  • Monitoring and reporting on HSE related matters and participating in HSE training and meetings.
Specific Skills Required
  • Good knowledge in basic design requirements, familiar with architectural methodologies and finishes and building codes.
  • Experience in buildings of all types, especially horizontal development, mixed use residential and commercial buildings, retail and hospitality.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Competent at writing reports - can present views clearly and concisely in good written English.
  • Detailed knowledge of construction techniques.
Qualifications Experience
  • Experience in architectural type projects required. Candidates must have experience in construction supervision with a consultancy, with a minimum of 7 years of overall experience (minimum 5 years in the UAE).
