Individual Income Tax Preparer (Direct Hire - Full Time - Year Round)


Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for the preparation and advising of individual income tax returns.


Key Result:

Preparing federal and state income tax returns for individuals.



Key Objectives:

  • Knowledge of federal and state income tax laws
  • Providing tax structure knowledge, best practices, and more
  • Advising and recruiting new clients
  • Customer relationship management
  • Participates in business and community functions and professional, charitable or civic organizations



Key Responsibilities:

You will demonstrate full responsibility for the following:



Tax returns:

  • Prepare and file individual income tax returns
  • Advise clients on withholding, quarterly estimated tax payments, tax strategy, and more
  • Research new tax trends and regulations



Customer Service Management:

  • Responsive communication with clients
  • Deliverables provided on time



Advising:

  • Knowledge of potential tax impacts
  • Best practices based on industry

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Accounting
  • 3-5 years of experience in the tax accounting field
  • Active PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number)
  • IRS Enrolled Agent or CPA Preferred
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop Pro and QuickBooks Online versions Preferred
  • Interest in learning Nonprofit (990) and Trust (1041) returns Preferred

Salary/Benefits

  • Employer will pay Employee a gross wage of $30 per hour.
  • Benefits include PTO, which provides for vacation and holidays and accrues at a rate of 0.092437 per hour worked.
  • Employer will contribute a match of up to 3% of wages earned to a SIMPLE plan.
  • Employee may also elect to contribute up to the maximum allowed per IRS rules.
  • No Health Insurance - The client is willing to give the employee a stipend towards their own individual Plan
  • There are no other job benefits unless written herein.
  • Employee understands that the number of hours may vary with the needs of Employer, with the initial expectation of 60 hours per week for thirteen weeks of the busy season, February - April, and 40 hours per week for the remainder of the calendar year.
  • Any hours worked over 40 per week will be paid at a time and a half
