Wesley Mission Queensland's Hyland House Respite Centre is seeking volunteers!
Hyland House Respite Centre is for older persons and people with special needs in the Pine Rivers area. It is a wonderful place to connect, meet people, and make new friends. Our services include centre-based day respite and a diverse range of programs and activities, social groups, and social outings.
About the Volunteer Roles
We are currently looking for volunteers to join our vibrant and supportive team to assist with:
- Scheduled daily programs
- Table games with clients, including bingo, puzzles, scrabble, and dominos
- Arts and craft
- Running the hobby shed to make items with wood
- Gardening
- Social groups, chats in small groups
- Preparing, serving, and clearing refreshments and keeping the kitchen running efficiently
- Simple exercises
- Driving clients on outings or to and from their residences to the centre in company fleet vehicles (open QLD 'C' class licence required)
- Playing an instrument
- Sharing your special talents
- Helping out where you can!
Various times are available on weekdays between 8 am and 2:30pm.

- All our volunteers follow a COVID-19 safe work plan and provide proof they have received a minimum of one primary COVID-19 vaccination before commencement.
- Volunteers must have a current NDIS Workers Screening Clearance before commencement. You can apply for this through Wesley Mission Queensland at no cost to you.
