Human Resource Generalist Kansas City, MO LHH is partnering with a client that is seeking a highly organized Human Resource Generalist who will play a key role in attracting top driving talent, ensuring smooth onboarding experiences, and maintaining compliance with DOT and company policies.
Responsibilities: - Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Source, screen, and interview CDL drivers and other transportation staff
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs
- Manage job postings and recruitment campaigns
- Onboarding & Orientation
- Coordinate pre-employment screenings and background checks
- Facilitate new hire orientation and training
- Ensure completion of all onboarding documentation
- Compliance & Recordkeeping
- Maintain DOT driver qualification files and ensure regulatory compliance
- Monitor license renewals, medical certifications, and safety training
- Assist with audits and reporting requirements
- Employee Relations & Support
- Serve as a point of contact for driver HR inquiries
- Support employee engagement and retention initiatives
- Help resolve workplace issues in a fair and consistent manner
Requirements: - 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in transportation or logistics
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and driver qualification standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
