HR Generalist

Job Description

Reporting to the VP of Business Strategy for an award winning global logistics organization with 30+ years' experience delivering quality logistics services to clients worldwide.

The HR Generalist is responsible for managing and administering the day to day Human Resources functions for our client to ensure compliance with all state and federal employment laws. Will be accountable for policies and compliance, the employee handbook, diversity, and inclusion training, and emergency plans. Will perform routine tasks in HR compliance, employee relations, recruiting, employee integration and termination. Our clients' goal is to be the workplace of choice for the best and brightest. Background Required:

  • Broad Human Resources Generalist experience (5+ years)
  • Creation and implementation of employee growth plans, corporate alignment, and learning resources
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and share knowledge with team members
  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management or Human Resources
  • Residence: commutable to Elkridge, MD

Background Preferred (but not required):

  • Knowledge of the freight forwarding or logistics industry
  • Knowledge of compensation plans, employee benefits programs & payroll processing
  • SPHR / SHRM or other HR certification
  • Experience with isolved / ihire
  • Advanced Degree -Master's Human Resources
