School InformationInner Sydney High School (ISHS) is located on the corner of Cleveland and Chalmers Streets, Surry Hills, next to Prince Alfred Park. The school has the capacity for 1,200 students and started with Year 7 students in 2020 and now has students enrolled in Years 7-12. The unique design of the school with refurbished heritage buildings and flexible learning spaces is combined with a 14 level high rise with indoor and outdoor recreational areas. The school is part of a dynamic and diverse educational precinct which is highly energized, engaged and connected. This rare opportunity will allow the successful applicant to work with the Principal and staff and continue to establish this new high school on a historically significant site.
The school has a focus on strong academic excellence with the delivery of outstanding teaching and learning programs. The innovative contemporary learning environment supports students to thrive and enjoy their learning. The school is located in walking distance from bus and train networks, however no on site parking is available.

Responsibilities- Highly developed instructional leadership skills with demonstrated ability to analyse data and implement whole school processes resulting in improved student growth and attainment.
- Outstanding communication and organisational skills with demonstrated capacity to support and strengthen the collaborative teaching and learning culture of the school.
- Demonstrated ability at a whole school level to lead and deliver high impact professional learning to support the professional growth of all teachers and implement strategies that enhance the learning outcomes for all students.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a dynamic member of the school's executive leadership team and lead initiatives to address whole school strategic directions within the School Excellence Plan and nurture positive and productive relationships across the school community.
- Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
- Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
- Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
- Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
