HammondCare is an independent Christian charity specialising in dementia care, palliative care, and rehabilitation, specialist mental health for older people and other health and aged services.

Volunteer Role

HammondCare Braeside Hospital offers rehab, palliative care and older persons mental health services. We are seeking a volunteer to support by pushing a trolley with treats and drinks around, helping to bring joy to residents and visitors as you enter each room.

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

Requirements
  • DAY ROLE Monday, Wednesday or Sunday 12pm-1pm, or an AFTERNOON ROLE Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday 4-5pm.
  • Applicants must be aged 18 years and over
  • HammondCare will organise and pay for a national police check
  • You will be required to meet NSW Dept of Health Immunisation standards for the category of this role (including HepB, Measles mumps and rubella, Tetanus, influenza or be willing to discuss meeting the requirements).
