Job Description

HammondCare Braeside Hospital offers rehab, palliative care and older persons mental health services. We're searching for someone to volunteer their time to provide companionship while pampering with gentle touch and an opportunity for connection and conversation. Spend time with residents talking and listening to their stories, or enjoy calming relaxation music together. Training provided in gentle hand massage and simple nail care (such as filing or nail polish).

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

Requirements
  • Applicants must be aged 18 years and over.
  • HammondCare will organise and pay for a national police check.
  • You will be required to meet NSW Dept of Health Immunisation standards for the category of this role (including HepB, Measles mumps and rubella, Tetanus, influenza or be willing to discuss meeting the requirements).
  • One hour each week for 6 months or longer.

We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time between Monday to Friday.
