Overview

Our client is a leading provider of specialized feed for exotic and native animals, trusted by zoos, wildlife parks, breeders, and specialty retailers. With a strong reputation for science-backed nutrition and consistent quality, they are now seeking a General Manager - Animal Nutrition to drive market growth, build long-term partnerships, and lead commercial strategy across Australia and beyond.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet revenue and growth targets.
  • Build and manage relationships with zoos, wildlife parks, aquariums, breeders, and specialty retailers.
  • Identify new markets and distribution opportunities, including international expansion.
  • Lead negotiations with key accounts and strategic partners.
  • Mentor and guide a sales team, driving performance through clear KPIs.
  • Collaborate with product, nutrition, and logistics teams to deliver value-driven solutions.
  • Monitor competitor activity, industry trends, and regulatory developments to shape strategy.
What We're Looking For
  • 10-15 years of progressive sales experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven success in animal nutrition, agribusiness, pet food, or exotic animal feed markets.
  • Experience in international markets and distributor management is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional commercial and negotiation skills, with a proven track record of delivering growth.
  • Passion for animals, wildlife, and conservation, with the ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear, customer-focused way.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
