General Insurance Specialist - Commercial Lines

This role focuses on Property, Engineering, Casualty, Liability, and Specialty classes of insurance, with a mandate to deliver underwriting advisory, lead risk placement, and provide client servicing excellence-all while ensuring strict compliance with UAE regulatory frameworks.

The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise and hands on brokerage experience, with strong insurer/reinsurer relationships, market insight, and the ability to design tailored solutions for large and complex corporate clients.

Key Responsibilities Domain Expertise & Advisory

• Serve as the subject matter expert for commercial insurance lines.
• Advise clients on coverage structures, risk transfer strategies, and optimal insurer selection.
• Stay current on UAE/global insurance market trends, regulatory developments (CBUAE), and industry cycles.

Placement & Negotiation

• Lead risk placement and negotiations with insurers/reinsurers to achieve the best terms and pricing.
• Structure comprehensive insurance programs for corporate clients, including bespoke policy wordings.
• Support facultative placements where required.

Solution Design & Client Servicing

• Assess client exposures, review risk profiles, and recommend tailored insurance solutions.
• Prepare proposals, presentations, and technical insurance reports.
• Ensure seamless policy issuance, endorsements, renewals, and contract reviews.

Data, Analytics & Reporting

• Monitor portfolio performance, claims trends, and loss ratios across commercial lines.
• Provide insights for stewardship reports, client dashboards, and renewal strategies.
• Support actuarial and finance teams in underwriting and claims analysis.

Risk & Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with CBUAE regulations, AML/CFT requirements, and PDPL obligations.
• Participate in internal audits, risk management reviews, and quality control processes.
• Maintain alignment with international standards and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Insurance, Finance, Business, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in general/commercial insurance within the UAE market.
• Demonstrated expertise across Property, Engineering, Casualty, Liability, and Specialty risks.
• Proven track record in risk placement, underwriting advisory, and policy structuring.
• Strong relationships with local and regional insurers/reinsurers.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with international insurance practices, policy wordings, and benchmarks.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACII or equivalent professional designation.
• Prior experience with a leading brokerage or multinational insurer.
• Exposure to large corporate accounts (construction, real estate, energy, logistics, etc.).
• Experience handling facultative reinsurance placements.
