Specialism Engineering / Civil / Mechanical
The Foreman - Mechanical (Tank) oversees the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems related to storage tanks and pressure vessels. They coordinate daily activities of the mechanical team, ensuring all work complies with engineering drawings, project specifications, and safety standards. The foreman manages resource allocation, monitors progress, and enforces strict adherence to health and safety protocols to maintain a secure and efficient work environment. Beyond supervising mechanical operations, the foreman serves as the key liaison between technicians, engineers, and project management. They review technical drawings and procedures specific to tank construction and maintenance, troubleshoot onsite challenges, and support quality assurance and inspection processes. Strong leadership, technical knowledge, and effective communication are essential to delivering reliable mechanical systems critical to tank integrity and project success.
Qualifications- Education: High school diploma or technical/vocational certification in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
- Experience: 5-10+ years in mechanical installation within oil & gas, tank, or utilities; minimum 2-3 years in foreman or supervisory role.
- Technical Skills: Interpretation of mechanical drawings (P&IDs), welding techniques, piping installation, hydrostatic testing, pump and compressor systems.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, leadership, time management and problem-solving abilities.
