Job Purpose

To record Inventory / fixed asset capitalization, depreciation, write off and maintenance of sub ledger reconciled accounting records in order to administer Inventory / Fixed Asset in compliance with the UAE statutory requirements, IFRS, management requirements and with appropriate internal controls.

Key Activities, Responsibility & Accountability
  • Follow all relevant Security policies, processes, procedures, and instructions to ensure security compliance in all aspects of work.
  • Follow all relevant Business Continuity and Resilience requirements for compliance with policies, procedures and instructions related to effective planning for and response to incidents and business disruptions.
People Management
  • Contribute to the development of UAE National employees in a manner that supports the objectives of the corporation and its Emiratization strategy.
  • Contribute to knowledge dissemination/sharing to build internal capabilities of UAE Nationals where applicable and maximize their effective performance.
Excellence and Quality Management
  • Ensure commitment to a culture of continuous improvement by eliminating waste, following operations procedures, practicing innovation, problem solving, and teamwork; complying with Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Ensure commitment to the Nawah Fundamentals.
Fixed Asset Management
  • Utilize Oracle ERP and other business systems to administer timely and accurate fixed assets (FA) transactions in compliance with the ENEC capitalization manual.
  • Coordinate with Senior General Ledger (GL) Accountant and Projects Accountant to set up consistent Asset location code, major/minor category codes and default useful life, mapping the categories to default GL accounts.
  • Reconcile general and administrative fixed asset and inventory, including reconciling fixed asset/inventory sub ledger and reviewing fixed asset register with business function owner.
  • Maintain and reconcile Fixed Asset register for external audit requirements, including disclosures and annual additions/deletions records.
  • Review and analyze the fixed asset physical inventory count in accordance with Finance and Accounting Guidelines.
Inventory Management
  • Maintain and update ENEC inventory booking, Goods Receipt Note, Goods Delivery Note, inventory issuing, spoilage and safe keeping records in coordination with warehouse staff.
  • Work closely with warehouse staff to fully assimilate all ENEC requirements for smooth business operations and update the inventory module on a regular basis.
  • Reconcile ERP inventory sub module and other warehouse systems on a regular basis and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual disclosure information for management and financial reporting.
  • Review the inventory transactions in Oracle in compliance with IFRS and other statutory requirements, including periodic physical stock take of inventories and supporting auditors.
  • Support overall development, maintenance and monitoring of ENEC inventory system to achieve efficient stock utilization.
  • Assist in the strategic planning and the quality of all reporting in conformance with regulations, legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Process monthly/yearly adjustments.

  • Facilitate communication both internally and externally to build and nurture mutually beneficial working relationships.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in energy or construction projects is highly desirable.
  • Governmental experience.
