Finance Officer

Officer Finance BP O2 - Restricted Classification. Reporting to M FBP within the Finance BP Department. The role is part of the Financial Planning and Strategy team and focuses on providing the line manager, SM FBP, VP Finance and other stakeholders with the financial information, tools, analysis and insight to support decision making, business strategy and continuous cost improvement.

Monthly closing reporting and analysis - support the line manager in preparing and analysing monthly reports to deepen understanding of portfolio costs and drivers. Key tasks include:

• Ensure financials reflect actuals accurately - work closely with business areas and Financial Reporting & Control.
• Prepare auxiliary reports for accrual estimation.
• Track actuals vs. budget and forecast and present findings.
• Track impact of profit improvement initiatives.
• Prepare deep dives into relevant costs with line manager and business areas.
• Prepare relevant KPIs for Corporate Strategy.
• Propose and implement process and report improvements.
• Support additional analyses for informed discussions with stakeholders.

Budgeting and forecasting - support the line manager in preparing budget proposals, ensuring forecast models are correct, aligning initiatives with corporate priorities and challenging proposed budgets.

• Maintain relevant budget templates.
• Collect, treat and analyse all necessary information.
• Update forecasts regularly based on operating plan changes.
• Perform quality checks on built reports and forecasts.
• Challenge the budget and identify profitability improvement initiatives.

Partnering with Business Areas - support the line manager in validating business cases, evaluating supplier bids, handling day day queries and connecting stakeholders to Finance teams.

• Prepare and validate business cases based on models/templates.
• Financially evaluate supplier bids.
• Handle day day queries (e.g. cost centre budgeting, quick reports).
• Connect portfolio business areas to relevant Finance stakeholders.
• Partner with other Finance departments to improve finance operations flow.

Process and tools revision - continuously improve processes and tools that support regular analysis, reporting and forecasting, seeking efficiency and value add metrics.

• Revise and simplify monthly reporting processes.
• Prepare Standard Operating Procedures and manuals.
• Answer Internal Audit queries and close open actions.
• Implement new budgeting tool ensuring key drivers are reflected.
• Implement any other financial system or reporting tool as adequate.

• Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S. in Accounting, Business Finance or related field).
• Working towards a professional finance qualification (ACA / ACCA / CPA / CIMA etc.).
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a financial analyst or related role.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel; BI tools experience is a plus (Tableau / Power BI).
• Experience with SAP and other accounting systems.
• Fluent written and spoken English; additional languages a plus.
• Preference for experience with airlines.
