The Opportunity- We're seeking an experienced and passionate Environmental Health, Safety & Quality (EHSQ) Manager to join our high-performing Data Centre Operations team on a 12-month fixed term contract.
- This is a pivotal role responsible for driving our EHSQ strategy, ensuring our operations remain safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible while supporting our commitment to sustainability and continuous improvement.
- You'll partner closely with managers, staff, and contractors to manage health, safety, environmental and quality systems, while maintaining alignment with ISO standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the development, implementation, and assessment of comprehensive EHSQ management systems and initiatives.
- Manage internal and external audits across ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications, ensuring full compliance and continuous improvement.
- Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to enhance workplace safety.
- Deliver reports and insights for executive and board review, including key safety and environmental metrics.
- Collaborate with the multiple stakeholders to manage ESG performance data and sustainability reporting (including CDP and related disclosures).
- Drive training and awareness programs across operations and contractors, embedding a strong safety culture.
- Support sales and operational teams with EHSQ input during tenders, RFPs, and new project designs.
- Lead emergency response and environmental compliance initiatives across all sites.
- Implement OH&S improvement projects and promote asafetyculture.
- Assess and evaluate EHS processes and activities to ensure best practices and compliance.
- Implement WH&S training programs for employees and contractors;including safety standards and any relevant legislative changes and WHS updates
- Ensure compliance and document update with safety protocols for visitors and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with emergency response, environmental, and quality assurance standards and legal and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain fire protection equipment, first aid kits, and personal protective equipment.
- Maintaining and managing ISO standards and including managing the annual ESHQ program to ensure audit readiness.
- You're a proactive and confident EHSQ professional who thrives in dynamic, mission-critical environments.
- A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years' experience in EHSQ management, ideally in data centre, construction, or high-risk industries.
- Demonstrated success implementing and auditing ISO management systems (9001, 14001, 45001) is ideal.
- Strong experience in policy development, reporting, and training program delivery.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills - with the ability to influence and drive outcomes across all levels of the organisation.
- Eligibility to obtain an NV1 Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship highly desirable).
- ISO lead auditor certification and prior experience with environmental compliance and sustainability reporting is desirable.
