Located 35km west of Toowoomba, the JBS Beef City Plant is part of the Beef City integrated feedlot, processing and farming facility. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality - one of only two in southern hemisphere. Specialising in grain-fed beef production, the plant employs approximately 850 employees with a current processing capacity of 999 cattle per day and has a strong reputation for producing high quality grain fed beef for key domestic and international customers.

About the Role

Due to the ongoing growth of JBS Australia, our Beef City Plant is currently recruiting a passionate Engagement & Support Coordinator to join the HR team in a full-time capacity. In this position, you will be responsible for providing support to the Pacific Labour Scheme (PLS) workforce through the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, delivery of the initial onboarding activities, as well as the ongoing pastoral care of our internationally sourced employee groups through the PALM (Pacific Australia Labour Mobility) Program.

Additionally, this role is also responsible for the timely and efficient coordination and processing of all necessary paperwork to ensure legal compliance as the candidates move to the offer stage, and then upon formal acceptance of the offer, be responsible for the accurate processing of all paperwork related to a new hire/transfer.

A full driver's license is required to apply for this position.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing end-to-end, hands-on support and pastoral care to new employees across a range of new arrival activities including: Accommodation; Transport; Shopping; Banking; and Communications
  • Working with the Pacific Labour Facility (PLF) to ensure efficiency and sponsor obligations are met
  • Managing site expectations on PALM resourcing based on reporting, candidate arrivals and process updates
  • Conducting meetings with internal and external stakeholder to provide direction, advice and query management
  • Ad hoc reporting as required by the business units
  • Maintaining accurate data records for immigration and reporting purposes

About You

  • Demonstrable experience within a similar role, ideally with a high-volume blue-collar workforce
  • Working knowledge and application with offshore recruitment, including mobility ("in country" & domestically) through DFAT
  • Familiarity or experience working with the PLF in coordinating/supporting the PALM Scheme
  • Experience working with an Approved Employer (AE) under the auspices of The PALM Scheme
  • Knowledge of worker placements from one of the nine Pacific Island Countries covered by the PALM Scheme
  • Demonstrated ability to provide situational leadership
  • Competently identifies cause & effect relationships
  • Ability to respond calmly in difficult situations whilst maintaining a strong customer service focus
