Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

Electronic & Firmware Research Engineers are core to KLA's technology, while we do not currently have an opening, we are always building our Electrical and Firmware Engineering talent community, we are interested in learning about your background.

  • Work with hardware and software teams to develop high-performance image acquisition systems.
  • Evaluate and implement image processing and machine learning algorithms for FPGA design.
  • Define FPGA requirements and develop design from concept to prototype.
  • Responsible for design, verification, documentation, timing closure, and subsystem validation bring-up


  • Minimum 5 years hands-on experience with complex FPGA designs is desired.
  • Experience with designing and evaluating image processing algorithms.
  • Experience with high bandwidth network design is a plus.
  • Experience with designing and evaluating machine learning neural networks for hardware implementation is desired.
  • Proficiency with hardware description language such as System Verilog; high-level synthesis is a plus.
  • Proficiency with FPGA design tools such as Vivado/Vitis and simulators such as VCS or Questa.
  • Understanding timing analysis is a must and experience with timing closure is highly desirable.
  • Hands on experience with lab equipment like logic analyzer, oscilloscope, etc. is preferred.
  • Team player with excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Minimum Qualifications

PhD with at least three years' relevant experience; or master's degree with at least six years' relevant experience
