SC3 Demonstrated high-level written and verbal communication skills and high-level interpersonal skills including a capacity to develop collaborative relationships with staff, contractors, service providers and facilities hirers
Role Responsibilities- Manage contractors, service providers, partners and Department compliance regarding school facilities.
- Work with the Business Manager to respond to urgent works.
- Support the school response to Edusafe reports to maintain a safe environment for student, staff and visitors.
- Attend and contribute to the school's OHS committee meetings and manage the prompt resolution of OHS items.
- Be familiar with the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and any other systems of the school and to keep operational manuals current and arrange regular services on systems and equipment.
- Manage the use of the Asset Information Management System (AIMS) in conjunction with the Business Manager.
- Schedule and document planned maintenance activities, including essential services, air conditioning, heating, electrical, plumbing, fire services, pest control, painting, concreting, engineering, glazing, carpenters, asbestos audits, facilities audits, and department inspections.
- Take a hands on role in performing daily maintenance tasks whenever required which may include removal of graffiti, emergency maintenance, cleaning and deliveries and ensure all maintenance tasks are undertaken at a high standard to ensure safety and sustainability.
- Ensure storage areas, equipment and resources are in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
- Coordinate the purchase of equipment and materials relating to facilities, maintenance and grounds.
- Vehicles - complete and maintain all documentation for staff driver licences, vehicle registrations, arrange servicing of all vehicles, annual roadworthy and safety inspections for buses and minor maintenance as required.
- Provide induction for all trade persons who are working on school grounds and both manage their needs and onsite DE requirements.
- Respond to out of hours emergency call outs.
- Lead the organisation and set up for school events and activities.
- Undertake any other duties as directed by the Principal or Business Manager.
