Mechanical Design Engineer / Design Engineer is required to join an Infrared imaging and thermal measurement manufacturer based in Cambridgeshire.
The successful Mechanical Design Engineer / Design Engineer will have experience in a similar role, or a mechanical backgorund as well as being based in Cambridgeshire .

Mechanical Design Engineer / Design Engineer Role
3D Mechanical Design, using different packages; primarily Creo and Solidworks
Providing mechanical support for areas like new product development
Implementing design modifications on a variety of the companies engage of mechanical products.
Ensuring all projects are delivered on time and to the specified costing Project Management
Checking of mechanical drawings and design documentation for accuracy and correctness whilst requirements regarding cost, safety and time constraints are met.
Responsible for mechanical part selection taking into consideration obsolescence, availability and cost.
Ensures design files and information are kept up to date and stored in accordance with departmental procedures.
Had exposure or have appreciation of electronics or electro-mechanical systems.
Highlights all mechanical technical risks to the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer andor the Engineering Director.
Requirements
2+ years experience in Commercial Design / Design Engineer positions
Genuine interest to learn a wide range of manufacturing processes.
Strong understanding of material selection, DFA, DFM
Experienced and knowledge in 3D CAD, particularly within Creo or Solidworks
Commutable to Cambridge
