Position InformationAlexandria Park Community School is a proud and vibrant Kindergarten to Year 12 community school. There are currently over 1300 students; approximately 54% of students are from families with language backgrounds other than English and 16% are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students. The school has an Opportunity Class in Year 5 and Year 6, a Selective Stream in Year 7 to Year 10 for high potential and gifted students and support classes in Primary and High school. Specific Selection Criteria- Proven high-impact leadership in school operations, with strong communication, organisation and management skills to oversee complex daily functions in a large and diverse school setting.
- Proven ability to collaborate with the executive team to effectively initiate, lead and monitor the implementation of the schools' strategic directions and whole school programs.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully managing complex wellbeing and behaviour matters, fostering engagement, attendance and a positive culture inclusive of the whole student body.
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills to lead and support staff, foster collaboration, and build a positive, high-expectations culture within the whole school community.
- Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
- Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
- Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
- Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
