Position Information

Bombala High School is a small rural comprehensive high school located in the south-east of New South Wales on the foothills of the Snowy Mountains. The school supports a current enrolment of 154 students including one multi-categorical class. Bombala High School's vision statement is "Providing Pathways For Success" and we do so proudly through our innovative curriculum design, which includes integrated learning and student co-designed subjects tailored to support students in a rapidly changing world. Learning is underpinned by a strong skills program aligned with AVID Australia, and curriculum development is supported with strong partnerships with local industry and local universities. Bombala High School has an excellent reputation for providing extra-curricular opportunities for students in arts, sports and academic programs, and boasts supportive learning environment underpinned by a strong wellbeing team and program. Bombala is a picturesque town set in idyllic country surrounds whilst also being within easy access of the ski slopes and south coast beaches. Specific Selection Criteria
  1. Proven capacity to be a highly approachable leader able to manage the complex and competing daily priorities to focus on student outcomes.
  2. Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, and manage student wellbeing and behaviour programs that enhance student wellbeing, engagement and positive school culture.
  3. Capacity to work as part of a senior executive team in leading, implementing and monitoring activities aligned with the school's strategic directions
General Selection Criteria
  1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
  5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
