Our challenge
We are seeking a skilled Data Integration Developer based in Canada with over 5 years of experience in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines utilizing SSIS, SQL Server, and Python to support finance and investment banking operations.
Additional Information
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Mississauga, ON is CAD $100k - CAD $120k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Develop, enhance, and troubleshoot complex ETL workflows using SSIS and SQL Server.
- Write efficient SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading across various data sources.
- Leverage Python scripting to automate data processing tasks and facilitate advanced data manipulations.
- Collaborate with business analysts and data stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data quality.
- Integrate data flows with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) and manage data lake architectures where applicable.
- Implement version control practices with systems like Git and establish CI/CD pipelines for smooth deployment.
- Monitor, optimize, and document data integration processes for performance and reliability.
- Stay updated on best practices in data management within finance domains.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in data integration and ETL development, especially in financial environments.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, SSIS, SQL Server, and Python.
- Good understanding of financial data structures, trading systems, and reporting standards.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) and data lake architectures (preferred).
- Familiarity with version control tools like Git and CI/CD automation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred, but not required:
- Knowledge of financial instruments, trading, or portfolio management systems.
- Experience working in a regulated environment like investment banking.
