How can you make a difference?The consultant will work closely with the UNICEF Gulf Area Office (GAO) and the ICT Division to map and analyse partnership opportunities across the Gulf region. Using UNICEF's AI strategy, policy guidance, and wider UN initiatives, the consultant will develop an AI partnership strategy in the region and provide tailored narratives and talking points for potential partners.
Responsibilities and Deliverables- Research AI related partnership opportunities with private and public stakeholders in UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.
- Deliver a comprehensive stakeholder map capturing strategic priorities, current AI initiatives and relevance to UN engagement (Deliverable 1).
- Conduct an in depth analysis of 3-4 high potential stakeholders through desk research and, where appropriate, direct engagement; produce a strategic briefing (Deliverable 2).
- Develop a short strategy document (3-5 pages) outlining objectives, engagement priorities, collaboration modalities and risk mitigation measures (Deliverable 3).
- Identify 3 resource mobilisation opportunities and draft 3 concept notes detailing engagement modalities and funding prospects (Deliverable 4).
- Organise a workshop for UNICEF colleagues (GAO, MENARO, ICTD, AI Hub, OOI) to present findings, walk through the strategy and gather feedback (Deliverable 5).
- A university degree in ICT, international development, public administration, business management, communication, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience at the national and/or international level in partnership development, resource mobilisation, grant making, programming, communications, project management, proposal development or reporting.
- Solid understanding of AI and experience with AI/digital technology partnerships.
- Experience and interest in AI and technological dynamics in the Gulf region is an asset.
- An understanding of corporate partnerships and private sector fundraising is an asset.
