The HammondCare Volunteer program is a great way for you to make a meaningful difference in the life of an older person, right here in Hunter.
We're looking for a friendly person who would love to brighten the day of an older gentleman in Merriwa who would enjoy a weekly or fortnightly visit for a cuppa and a chat. Our client enjoys talking about current affairs and enjoys going to the Men's Shed.
Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the clients you are matched with.
18 years or older • National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one-hour visit between 9 am and 4 pm, Monday to Sunday. Visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
