- Type: Hybrid Working - office + work from home + in community
- Contract: Full-Time Ongoing 38 hours a week
- Salary: Social & Community Services Level 4 - $44.58 to $47.97 an hour + Super

About the teamOur Housing Operations Team is the frontline of YWCA Australia and YWCA Housing, playing a key role in supporting residents and sustaining tenancies. Through efficient administration and proactive engagement, the team helps ensure residents maintain stable, secure housing.
About the roleAs a Community Housing Officer, you'll play a key role in maintaining tenancy systems, supporting residents through regular visits and advice, and managing tenancy and maintenance issues in line with the Residential Tenancies Act-all within a collaborative team environment.
In this role, you will:
- Work across a broad housing portfolio, supporting vulnerable women and gender diverse people through tenancy management, maintenance coordination, and resident engagement.
- Conduct regular home visits, mediate housing issues, assist potential residents, and support property maintenance.
- Represent YWCA at tribunal hearings and provide residents with access to policy guidance and referrals to external support services.
- Work closely with asset management and housing teams to deliver high quality housing outcomes.
- Manage specialised Rooming Houses, whilst ensuring compliance with tenancy legislation.
As the ideal applicant will have:
- Experience in community housing or property management, with knowledge of tenancy practices, RTA legislation, maintenance coordination, and administrative processes.
- Strong understanding of the relevant state Residential Tenancies Act.
- Ability to engage respectfully with diverse communities, with awareness of homelessness issues.
- Proficiency in tenancy data systems (e.g. Zavanti, Excel) and Microsoft Office.
- Well developed communication, mediation, and conflict resolution skills, with strong organisational abilities.
