As a Community Chaplain, you'll be the heart of gospel centred care and practical support in the Sadleir, Miller, Ashcroft, Busby, and Heckenberg communities-connecting deeply with individuals from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds. Through meaningful one on one relationships and community engagement, you'll offer help for today and hope for tomorrow.

This role is a Maximum Term Part Time position, 3 days per week (22.8 hours), on a two year contract with the option to modify for the right candidate.
With integrity and compassion, you will:- Build relationships with social housing and low socio economic and cross cultural cohorts through community BBQs, door knocking, 1:1 meetings, and more
- Serve and show practical love through these connections
- Develop ministries that address chronic loneliness and connect people with each other and the St Mark's church community
- Build connections with Anglicare and other services to improve access and support for the community

- Organise evangelistic courses or events that welcome marginalised community members
- Seek discipling opportunities and equip church members to engage in community care
- Run life skills courses such as 'Empower' and 'Sorted' at the church or other suitable locations
- Act as a bridge for marginalised people into the church community, encouraging and welcoming them
- Attend fortnightly staff meetings and monthly 1:1s with the Rector
- Sound theological understanding and ability to communicate the gospel cross culturally
- Theological qualifications (or working toward them) from a Reformed, Evangelical Bible college
- Experience in pastoral ministry across diverse cultures, especially with mental health and disadvantage
- Willingness to undertake pastoral care training with Anglicare
- Strong leadership, communication, relational, and administrative skills
- A current Working with Children Check clearance or willingness to obtain one
- Willingness to attend St Mark's Sadleir, exclusive of membership of other churches
- Attend regular professional supervision sessions
- Participate in Anglicare professional development days and training modules
- Monthly check ins with the Community Chaplaincy Manager
- Quarterly meetings with other Community Chaplains
- Annual attendance at Anglicare Chaplaincy Day
- Submit quarterly reports to Anglicare Supervisor and St. Mark's Parish Council
We provide meaningful opportunities and choice-for the individuals and communities we support, and for the dedicated people who make it happen.
At Anglicare, you'll belong to a community of kind, humble, and respectful people of all faiths and backgrounds. You'll be supported to grow in knowledge, deepen your experience, and shape a rewarding career.
Benefits include:- Increase your take home pay by up to $15,900 with salary packaging
- Ongoing professional development and leadership training
- Exclusive discounts to over 400 retailers
- Employee Assistance Program and Fitness Passport access for you and your family
We're many services, with one purpose: to meet people where they are and walk with them. At Anglicare, we believe everyone is Made for Connection-with God, with each other, and with the places we call home.

from the Hawkesbury River south to Ulladulla and Sutton Forest, and west to the Blue Mountains and Lithgow.
We acknowledge and pay our respects to their elders, past, present and emerging,
and pray that God will unite us all in a knowledge of his Son, in whom all things were created.
