MacKillop Catholic College, Mount Peter is seeking applications for Cleaners to join their growing College community in 2026. Full-time, Part-Time and Casual positions are available.
Commencement Date: 19th January 2026 (Negotiable). Casual positions are available for an immediate start.
Employment Types: Full-Time Permanent Positions: 38 hours per week (Monday to Friday - day time Cleaner roster and a split shift roster). Part-Time, Term-Time Permanent Positions: 6 - 15 hours per week (Monday to Friday). Possible additional hours are available occasionally to cover periods of leave.
Salary Range: Service Staff Schedule Level 1 - $31.17 to $32.17 gross per hour + 12.75% super. (Casual positions: Service Staff Schedule, Level 1 $38.97 to $40.21 gross per hour + 12.75% super)

About the RoleThe Cleaner is a member of the Maintenance and Facilities team. Working within the team, they are to provide operational support in the cleaning of the College buildings and surrounds.
Typical duties performed may include, but are not limited to:
- Carry out cleaning tasks as directed by the Maintenance and Facilities Manager.
- Undertake cleaning activities in all areas of the College independently or as a member of a larger cleaning team.
- Manage work time effectively and work with limited supervision to undertake cleaning activities in all areas of the College.
- Work safely and adhering to Work Health and Safety standard codes of practice.
- Read and understand the Safety data sheets (SDS) associated with Cleaning chemicals being used.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required based on SDS guidance.
- Operating and maintaining cleaning equipment including vacuum cleaners, polishers, blowers and water hoses.
- Sanitising high exposure areas/touchpoints such as door handles, benchtops, refrigerator doors, taps, phones, keyboards and railings.
- Sweeping, mopping and buffing floors.
- Vacuuming carpets and mats.
- Dusting desks, tables, shelves and all other horizontal surfaces.
- Removing litter, rubbish and food waste.
- Emptying and cleaning rubbish bins.
- Cleaning windows, fans, common areas and kitchenettes.
- Removing cobwebs as required.
- Cleaning sinks, basins, toilets and sanitary spaces.
- Monitor and replenish toilet tissue, hand towel and soap dispensers as required.
- Leaving all areas across the College fresh and ready for use.
- Locking and alarming rooms and buildings.
- Reporting defects to the Maintenance and Facilities Manager.
- Assist the Maintenance and Facilities Manager with the stocktake of cleaning products as required.
- Keep all cleaning store/rooms/trolleys and equipment tidy and clean.
- Maintain appropriate behaviours when engaging with children.
