Job Summary

Our client is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Business Development Assistant to support our sales and business development team. This role is perfect for a recent graduate or an individual with 2-3 years of experience who is eager to learn about the retail industry, selling groceries, luxuries and home electronics. You will play a crucial part in our growth by identifying new opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and assisting with key administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research to identify and qualify new business leads and target markets within the retail, wholesale and supply chain sectors
  • Assist in creating and maintaining a database of potential clients and key stakeholders
  • Draft and send introductory emails and cold call scripts to initiate contact with new leads
  • Support the Business Development team in preparing for client meetings, including creating presentations, proposals, and other sales materials
  • Track and report on sales activities and pipeline status using a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and webinars to network and gather market intelligence
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and organizing files
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align on messaging and campaigns
  • Conduct general administrative and data entry tasks related to daily operations
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2-3 years of experience in a sales, marketing, or administrative role is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with English being the primary language
  • Strong research and analytical abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with a CRM system is a plus
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • A proactive and positive attitude with a desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
