Backup and Storage Engineer

Job Purpose: The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining backup infrastructure, ensuring data integrity and availability, and supporting enterprise storage and virtualization solutions. Expertise in backup management, storage design, virtualization, and enterprise systems administration is required.

Certifications: Commvault Certified Professional (CCP), VMware Certified Technical Associate (VCTA), Information Storage and Management Associate (DCA-ISM), ITIL Foundation.

Experience: Minimum of 8 years in IT Infrastructure Backup Management, with at least 3 years managing large IT projects.

Responsibilities include:

1. Manage backup systems using Commvault and Networker.
2. Implement and optimize backup processes for data integrity and recovery.
3. Conduct backups, restore testing, and disaster recovery planning.
4. Design and manage storage solutions with EMC storage systems.
5. Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and upgrades.
6. Work with SAN/NAS storage, SAN switches, LUN provisioning (Dell EMC Unity, Data Domain, HPE-3PAR).
7. Experience with VMware, Dell VxRail, VCF, SRM, vRealize Suite, Workspace ONE/AirWatch.
8. Manage VMware Horizon, Active Directory, and Exchange environments.
9. Troubleshoot VMware AirWatch and ManageEngine components.
10. Document processes, configurations, and recovery procedures.
11. Ensure compliance with policies and security standards.
12. Collaborate with IT, network, and application teams.
13. Provide technical support and training.
14. Support ESXi upgrades and migrations.
15. Deep understanding of Data Center and Virtualization technologies.
16. Analyze client infrastructure for readiness for Data Center and Virtualization.

Technical Skills / Competencies (Mandatory):

• Experience with backup technologies (Commvault, EMC Networker, Veeam).
• Experience with SAN/NAS storage, SAN switches, LUN provisioning (Dell EMC Unity, Data Domain, HPE-3PAR).
• Experience with VDI platforms like VMware Horizon.
• Experience with Active Directory & Microsoft Exchange.
• Strong understanding of ITIL processes.
