Position InformationWagga Wagga Public School is located on the land of the Wiradjuri people and has a proud history as the first primary school in the region. Serving around 445 students from Kindergarten to Year 6, the school promotes an inclusive environment that values diversity, with approximately 11% of students identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and 14% from non-English speaking backgrounds. Focused on student wellbeing and academic success, the school uses evidence-based practices to nurture empathetic, independent, and motivated learners. The active Parents and Citizens Association plays a vital role in supporting the school, while a broad range of extracurricular activities enriches students' experiences. The staff, which includes both early career and experienced teachers, fosters a culture of collaboration and high expectations.
Specific Selection Criteria- Demonstrated capacity to lead and implement social and emotional learning initiatives to improve student wellbeing and engagement
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively as a member of the leadership team to cultivate a positive, high-expectation school culture
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships within the school and across the wider educational community to enhance student outcomes
- Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
- Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
- Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
