Belmont Public School is situated on Awabakal land on the eastern shores of Lake Macquarie. The school has 260 students, including 40 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, across 10 mainstream and 3 educational support classes. • Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with a diverse range of complex needs including autism, intellectual disabilities, trauma and mental health concerns with demonstrated ability to differentiate teaching and learning to meet individual student needs.
• High level communication skills and the ability to work as part of a dynamic leadership and school team to facilitate whole school practices, including strategic planning, leading and monitoring initiatives and applying evaluative practices to drive continuous improvement with a focus on equity.
• Proven ability to strengthen a dynamic and responsive school-wide approach to student inclusion, wellbeing, attendance and behaviour management processes enabling every student to connect, succeed, and thrive.
• Demonstrated ability to build staff capacity to meet the needs of students with disability through evidence-informed practices, incorporating student voice and fostering a culture of inclusion.

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
