Job Description - Assistant Principal - Alma Public School

The school is situated in Broken Hill, on the traditional lands of the Wilyakali people, and serves a diverse student population, with 36% of its 291 students identifying as Aboriginal.
The school prioritises building positive relationships among staff, students, and families, recognising their importance in enhancing student learning. With a workforce of over 50 staff members, including specialised roles for learning support and Aboriginal education, Alma Public School upholds high standards for all learners.
Position InformationAlma Public School is a dynamic public school that places a strong emphasis on Aboriginal education, through utilising the expertise of Aboriginal staff members and by the presence of its dedicated Aboriginal identified preschool, Alma Bugdlie.
Responsibilities and Selection CriteriaThe successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to build strong, collaborative partnerships among students, staff, and families to foster a supportive school community, as well as successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.

- Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
