ARCHITECT    

HOUSTON, TEXAS

 

Norton is a full-service creative agency specializing in the restaurant and hospitality industry, working with a variety of local and national brands and we're looking to add an ARCHITECT to our team. Our ideal new teammate has at least 5 years experience as an architect with experience in producing architectural drawings, renderings, and construction documents with a focus on restaurant or retail spaces. MUST BE LICENSED IN TEXAS.


The ideal candidate will have a passion for design, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to translate concepts into remarkable architectural solutions. This role will be responsible for leading and contributing to various stages of the design process, from initial concept development to construction documentation.

EXPECTATIONS:

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop creative and innovative design concepts that align with project goals and client expectations
  • Produce high-quality architectural drawings, renderings, and presentations that effectively communicate design intent
  • Lead and participate in design critiques, brainstorming sessions, and design reviews to foster a collaborative design environment
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful project delivery
  • Prepare and review construction documents, specifications, and other project documentation.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, address issues, and ensure compliance with design intent and specifications
  • Ensure accurate preparation of construction documents, code review and compliance
  • Excellent clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work well under pressure, juggle and prioritize multiple projects and adjust work accordingly, often against tight deadlines
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Architecture, or in a related field
  • Must have professional architectural license
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills that ensure progress in the face of obstacles
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to increase knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Experience in the Restaurant or Food Service Industry a plus
  • 5+ years of experience working as an Architect in a design-focused architectural firm
  • Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience interacting with senior leadership, both internally and externally
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects and technical skills
