This temp-to-hire opportunity is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional with a strong background in clerical accounting and a passion for the construction industry. You'll play a key role in supporting the accounting department with day-to-day financial operations and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and timely
Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
Maintain organized financial records and documentation
Generate reports using accounting software and Excel
Support payroll processing and job cost tracking
Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams regarding billing and payment inquiries
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5+ years of clerical accounting experience
At least 3+ years of hands-on experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Construction industry experience is required
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with job costing and project accounting preferred but not required
Familiarity with construction-specific accounting platforms (e.g., Sage 300, QuickBooks Contractor Edition, etc )
