Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Accountant is responsible for managing the end-to-end accounts payable function for our hospitality group. The role ensures timely and accurate processing of invoices, vendor payments, card and bank reconciliations, and supports the finance team in maintaining financial accuracy and compliance.
Accountabilities- Invoice Processing - Receive, review and verify invoices and purchase orders for accuracy and approvals. Code and enter invoices into the accounting system promptly.
- Vendor Management - Maintain an active supplier database. Liaise with vendors for account statements, payment queries and resolve discrepancies, ensuring timely payments per agreed terms.
- Payment Processing - Prepare and process supplier payments (cheques, bank transfers, etc.) with proper documentation and approvals.
- Petty Cash & Outlet Support - Oversee petty cash disbursements across all outlets, reconcile monthly and maintain accurate documentation.
- Reconciliations - Perform monthly vendor reconciliations, assist in bank reconciliations and maintain accurate cash flow records.
- Reporting & Audit - Assist with month end closing activities related to payables, prepare reports on outstanding payables, payment schedules and cash flow projections, and support internal and external audits with necessary documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- 2 4 years of experience in Accounts Payable, preferably in hospitality or F&B industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Oracle, Sun System, Dynamics 365, QuickBooks).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and vendor management abilities.
- Knowledge of VAT and local financial regulations is a plus.
- Experience managing payables for multiple outlets or branches.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with inventory and procurement systems is advantageous.
