Stable, growing restaurant franchisee located in Morgan City, LA is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our growing finance team. You will play a critical role in managing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting. You will be responsible for month-end and year-end close processes, assisting in preparing financial statements
Responsibilities
- Daily accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations and accounts payable responsibilities, and cash monitoring
- Month-end and year-end close processes and workpapers, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Conduct variance analysis and investigate discrepancies, providing insightful explanations
- Assist with budgeting
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Assist with external audits and tax filings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Preferred
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting
- Proficiency in accounting software and Excel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
