We are excited to offer an opportunity for a diverse group of talented students to join the internship program at Schonfeld. You'll spend ten - twelve weeks with the Emerging Markets and Delta One team within the Investment division where you will be immersed in the culture and atmosphere of Schonfeld, working alongside talented professionals on meaningful projects.
ResponsibilitiesInvestment Analysts at Schonfeld take on a wide range of responsibilities and challenges. They are responsible for idea generation, formulating trade implementation across a wide range of securities and derivatives, and risk managing an existing portfolio of risks.
What You'll DoYou'll work primarily alongside Portfolio Managers analyzing investment decisions across delta 1 derivatives and emerging market risk parameters, using a mix of quantitative and qualitative data to analyze, back-test and implement investment ideas. You can expect to get exposure to fundamental stock analysis, derivatives pricing and risk management, strategy back testing and optimization and much more!
You will be assigned both a manager and mentor, participate in organized team-building events, lunch and learns, social activities, and network with senior management throughout the internship. You will be assigned projects that will be directly related to the work of the team you are assigned to, which you will present on at the completion of the program. Upon completion of the internship, you may be extended a full-time offer of employment.
QualificationsWhat you need:
- A degree in a quantitative or technical field such as statistics, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, computer science or economics (ideally with one year left in your academic program)
- Strong quantitative background covering probability, statistics, data science, optimization
- The ability to communicate research ideas clearly and succinctly
- Creative problem-solving skills and experience working with real-world datasets
- Ability to communicate and critically present investment ideas
- Passion for financial markets and desire to make a difference in a challenging and competitive environment
- Prior experience in the financial industry
- Product knowledge (Swaps, futures, TRFs, dividend swaps, forwards and synthetics)
