Position Summary

The Indirect Purchasing Specialist is responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services that support business operations but are not directly incorporated into finished products. This role ensures cost-effective purchasing, vendor management, and process optimization while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations. The specialist works cross-functionally with departments such as operations, finance, IT, HR, and facilities to source the best solutions that meet organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Execution:

• Manage the sourcing and purchasing of indirect materials, supplies, and services (e.g., IT equipment, office supplies, professional services, travel, facilities, marketing services).
• Develop and issue RFQs/RFPs, evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts with suppliers.
• Ensure purchase orders are processed accurately and in a timely manner.

Supplier Relationship Management:

• Identify, qualify, and onboard new vendors while maintaining strong relationships with existing suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance on cost, quality, delivery, and service.
• Resolve supplier issues and disputes promptly.

Cost Control & Process Improvement:

• Analyze spending patterns to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
• Support the development and implementation of category strategies for indirect spend.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and budgets.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Support:

• Partner with internal teams to understand requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Provide guidance on procurement best practices to stakeholders.
• Support audits, reporting, and compliance-related activities.

Requirements:

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
• 25 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain (experience in indirect procurement strongly preferred).
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software (SAP, Oracle, Coupa, etc.).
• Knowledge of procurement best practices, contract management, and vendor compliance.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
